Policy on Junior Archers
Junior Archers
Nonsuch Bowmen welcomes junior archers from the age of 10.
Parents
The club will not accept any responsibility of care towards junior archers. This means that a parent or guardian must remain with the junior archer at all times, including actively supervising them while they are shooting, to both ensure they are safe and also that they are able to get home afterwards.
The Club
The club has subscribed in full to GNAS' Policy on Protection of Children & Vulnerable Adults. A copy is available either from the "Documents" page on the GNAS website, or the club. This means that:
- The club has a zero tolerance of bullying or abuse towards children.
- The club has a complaints procedure in place.
- The club has ensured that all active coaches have been been CRB checked as required by GNAS
- The club has a registered Child Protection Officer who deals with such matters and is accountable to the governing organisation, and not the club.
Shooting
Junior members are welcome to attend to practice or shoot a scored round on any of our published target days. We will always try to provide alternative rounds at distances suitable for different age groups. It will help if you let us know as soon as possible if you want to score a round and at what maximum distance so we have time to set up the necessary target bosses.
